Patrick Bigsby

Patrick Bigsby is a lawyer, former journalist, and college wrestling fan. Prior to beginning his current position as an assistant state public defender, Patrick clerked for the Hon. Jessica R. Bear, Chief Judge of the Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa Tribal Court. Patrick has written and presented extensively on issues related to free expression in Indian Country and is the editor of Volume I of the Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa Appellate Reporter, a first-of-its-kind compendium of Meskwaki case law. In addition to the Iowa Commission on Native American Affairs, Patrick serves on the Juvenile Justice and Youth Development Policy Board for Johnson County.
