Biography
Commissioner Hernandez is originally from Spain. he has resided in Ottumwa since he arrived at the age of 15, as an exchange student. He is the Assistant Director for Community and Economic Development at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Previously, Commissioner Hernandez was the Director of the New Iowan Center in Southeast Iowa. He is a strong community development professional with a vast history of working in community leadership and development with Foundations, Nonprofit Organizations, Main Street, Social Services, and Government. He is a graduate of William Penn University, Buena Vista University, Indian Hills College, and Ottumwa High School.
