DHR Welcomes Iowa's First Female Governor

Governor Kim ReynoldsKim Reynolds was sworn in as Iowa's first female governor on May 24, 2017.  Governor Reynolds replaced former Governor Terry Branstad who resigned to become the U.S. ambassador to China.  Governor Reynolds had previously been a state senator and a county treasurer, and is now Iowa's 43rd governor.  Adam Gregg was appointed as Lt. Governor; he previously served as the state's Public Defender and  policy advisor in the Governor's Office.  The Administration's goals are:  creating a competitive business environment, developing the most innovative energy policy, educating our children for the knowledge economy, and training Iowans for the jobs of tomorrow.

Commissions, Boards & Councils

The DHR is your partner in building better communities for all who live here. We open doors, find answers, meet challenges and develop resources. We provide a link among agencies, nonprofits and outreach groups within the state, and between federal and state programs. Our approach stems from a Commission, Board and Council structure to ensure the distinct voices of all Iowans are heard.  If you are interested in serving on a commission or board, go to http://openup.iowa.gov to learn more about the application process.
